Spotlight: Pilgrimage

We are excited to share that the Missional Wisdom Foundation’s 2016 Pilgrimage to Iona, Scotland is currently underway. The Foundation was established following a trip to Iona in 2009, and we have found that those who journey there are often touched by the Holy Spirit in a meaningful and tangible way. The pilgrimage is a wonderful time of renewal and connection, and is often the foundation of deeper bonds with fellow travelers and with God.

Our group departed on May 18 and will return home on May 29, 2016. Their days on Iona are minimally programmed. Each day is beginning and ending with prayer at the Abbey at 9:00am and 9:00 pm. The group share community meals - take turns preparing the food and cleaning up - at 6:00 pm each day, with a time for reflection and discussion following the meal. A majority of their time on the island is unprogrammed, allowing plenty of time for walking, reading, picking up rocks and chasing sheep.
